DETAILS AND NOTES
148-1 Young female workers in a mill. Twenty girls line up in two rows of eight and four sat on the floor and represent different age groups, they are surrounded by the machinery of a [cloth] mill showing bobbins etc. [quite a piece of social history] No date and no location given but I assume early 20th century.
148-2 The inside of a men's hospital ward with men and boys, the beds are tightly packed in, there are four nurses. in bed 20 is a boy under the care of Mr.E.A. Bellanger [or Ballanger]. There is a turntable with a record on it behind the middle nurse, tin mugs and a handgrip on a chain on the right.. The back has 'Mrs E.C.Jephcott'. I assume early 20th century. 148-3 Twenty-six nurses line up with a prize cup, the arm badges look like St.John's, one nurse has a wrist watch that says 9.50am. No clue as to where or when but I assume in the UK and perhaps WW1 or earlier.
148-4 Twenty-two nurses line up with two others (man in medical uniform) the St.John's cross is on the uniforms. Possibly 1930s.
